Coordinates, plans, organizes, and teaches through classroom instruction and online education for selected areas of discipline. Creates and delivers engaging learning experiences for students to stimulate interest in subjects taught and to foster effective knowledge acquisition and communication. Promotes active inquiry, problem solving, digital literacy, and related decision making through the design and implementation of courses and teaching methodologies. Advises students and provides instructional support outside of class time as needed to foster student success.
POSITION SUMMARY Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Education: A master's degree in psychology is required; a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology is strongly preferred. Candidates who are ABD (all but dissertation) with a clear timeline to degree completion may be considered. Experience: Prior college-level teaching experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach across multiple areas of psychology, including both introductory and advanced coursework. Experience designing or supervising capstone experiences or specialized concentrations within an integrated social sciences framework. Other: Position will require ability to work at any of the College’s locations – Paramus, Lyndhurst and Hackensack. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open-door policy. Possess the ability to use computer-assisted learning technology, especially online instruction. Practices active scholarship and professional involvement. Familiarity with learning management systems, particularly Canvas, is strongly preferred. Demonstrates involvement with community partnerships, clinical applications, or applied research. Evidence of leadership in departmental initiatives, such as instructional innovation or program development. Has proficiency in the use of Google suite.
