Internal Number: F-0017-2021 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: The English/Languages Department, Division of Liberal Arts, is seeking a full-time tenure track instructor of English as a Second Language (ESL) to start in the fall 2022 semester. Applicants should have an area of academic specialization in world language education, understanding and experience using digital media in the classroom, and a successful record of teaching second-language acquisition at the post-secondary or secondary level. The successful candidate should also be skilled in a variety of instructional and productivity technologies as they inform current best practices in language acquisition. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to the comprehensive community college mission. In addition to teaching responsibilities, requirements for this position include; working closely with adjunct faculty, participation in curriculum planning, program review, student advisement and placement, and service on college-wide committees. A minimum of a Master’s degree in an ESL-related or second language acquisition field and college-level teaching experience is required. A related Ph.D., community college teaching experience, online teaching experience, and training in research-based best practices in second language acquisition/world language instruction is preferred.
