The Fermanian School of Business (FSB) is an ACBSP accredited 'Best Practice' school with approximately 900 students across traditional undergraduate degrees in business, and graduate and adult undergraduate degrees in both business and leadership. Our FSB guiding principle is 'more than the bottom line.' FSB is highly collaborative and supportive of scholarship activities. Our traditional undergraduate majors include management, marketing, accounting, finance, information systems, and international development. The FSB also offers an evening MBA program for experienced professionals, an early career MBA program for recent graduates, and both online and face-to-face Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) degrees. In addition, the FSB offers both online Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership (BAOL) degrees, and partners with local community colleges to offer face-to-face 2+2 BBA and BAOL degrees.

Salary:

PLNU pays its faculty using a payscale based on experience and academic rank. Faculty salaries using this scale for a 3-semester appointment range from $87,210 to $142,678. The actual salary will be based on the experience, rank, and appointment term of the candidate selected to fill this position.

This position includes administrative duties for the FSB Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) programs along with teaching in an area of expertise that can include management, leadership or marketing.

The professor must have knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to be effective with undergraduate and graduate teaching. They are also expected to have knowledge of ways to instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students and do the following:

• Work as a team with the FSB deans and staff.
  
• Oversee the FSB GPS programs that include Graduate and Accelerated Undergraduate (MBA, MAOL, BBA, BAOL)
  
• Supervise the work of the GPS Program Coordinator.
  
• Hold regular office hours at Mission Valley during key times for staff supervision, student engagement, and meetings as needed.
  
• Student support and communication
  
  • Schedule and present program information to new GPS students at orientations held each semester/quad.
    
  • Document student complaints in GPS courses and with the dean to determine appropriate responses.
    
• Develop and support student events and activities
  
  • Oversee GPS graduation activities to include Delta Mu Delta Honors and Student of the Year.
    
  • Assist with identifying and coordinating corporate visits.
    
  • Identify changing needs and develop and implement events and activities as needed.
    
• Assist the Dean in supporting GPS faculty needs.
  
  • Schedule and present to GPS faculty at kick-off meetings.
    
  • Assist faculty in documenting cheating, behavior or other incidents in GPS courses as needed.
    
  • Work with the Dean to recruit adjunct faculty as needed.
    
• Oversee the GPS programs curriculum
  
  • Chair the Graduate Curriculum Committee and serve on the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and Assessment Committee
    
  • Support the Deans with monitoring the programs KSFs and related data
    
  • Work with the Deans to monitor and respond to assessment data
    
  • Work with the Deans to identify needed curricular changes and improvements.
    
  • Explore opportunities to grow the GPS programs

• Coordinate with Student Success and the Records office to support students with course planning, registration, approval or denial of course petitions, and other related issues.

  • Communicate the value of the programs to prospective students
    
  • Grow and develop relationships with community colleges
    
  • Attend and present at admissions events (on multiple campuses and at other venues as needed)

  • Recruit faculty, students, and alumni as representatives at GPS events, including panels
    
  • Monitor enrollment goals
    
• Coordinate the social media efforts for the GPS program.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or DBA earned or near completion in a business discipline or a closely related area.
  
• Demonstrated experience as an instructor in a business discipline.
  
• Commitment to continuous improvement through reflective teaching practices.
  
• Commitment to ongoing professional activity and scholarship.
  
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and collegial work environment.
  
• An active and maturing faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to PLNU as an intentional Christian community in the Wesleyan tradition. This includes living in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.

• Ph.D. or D.B.A. earned in a business discipline or a closely related area
