The Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion reports to the Vice President of Mission, Diversity & Inclusion (VP MDI) and provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for development, implementation, and maintenance of successful practices to support and cultivate a just, equitable, and inclusive campus educational community and workplace environment. • Maintain a visible presence on campus and, with oversight by and collaboration with the VP MDI, in collaboration with other campus partners, leads, coordinates, and implements DEI initiatives across all levels of the university (program, department, school, university-wide).
• In collaboration with campus partners, lead the identification, design, and implementation of resources, training modules, workshops, presentations, programs, and services that create and foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for living, learning, and working at the University. This includes identifying, tracking, and formally presenting information that measures the impact of these initiatives. 
• Lead and support a body of colleagues (e.g., committee, advisory board) to develop, nurture, and sustain synergistic and collaborative relationships with administrative offices, schools, departments, and other units to build a campus community dedicated to cultivating practices congruent with core values embedded in the University’s Lasallian Catholic identity and mission, and the conceptual framework of inclusive excellence.
• Lead the Bias Response Team and Ombudsperson program under the University’s Anti-Harassment and Non-Discrimination policies.
• Assist with executing and communicating key initiatives and messages surrounding DEI initiatives.
• Assess issues and trends affecting diversity, benchmark other institutions for best practices, examine policies and practices to effect change, and continually identify and constructively alert appropriate constituents in areas of needed improvement.
• Collaborates with and assists other units on campus to foster and develop partnerships to support the local and regional community.
• Serves as Chair or active member of other standing and ad hoc committees as assigned by the VP MDI.
• Time permitting, counsels, advises, and consults with students, faculty, staff and alumni individually and collectively to embrace the importance of building an inclusive, appreciative, and welcoming environment.
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Mission, Diversity, & Inclusion.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the development, implementation, and assessment of diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and practices.
• Evidence of nuanced, broad, contemporary, and sophisticated understanding of diversity in all its forms such as evidence of understanding historical and current systemic/structural factors that contribute to disparities and awareness of effective interventions to remedy those disparities.
• Subject matter expertise in issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, which may include but are not limited to: race, ethnicity, LGBTQIA+, disability.
• Successful experience with supporting, implementing, and assessing DEI initiatives within the context of strategic planning.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work, assign and meet deadlines, and perform successfully with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to build rapport and collaborate with broad and diverse groups of constituents.
• Previous experience with handling sensitive and highly confidential information and proven ability to exercise discretion and use of good judgement in performing assigned duties.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. 
• Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University and ability to work effectively within a faith-based institutional context and with individuals from diverse faith traditions.
