This position involves receiving and dispatching Public Safety emergency calls and messages in the Security dispatch room. Included in the communications function is in-person customer service, heavy telephone interaction, monitoring emergency panels, phones, call boxes and the campus camera system. Other duties include receiving and inputting motor vehicle summons information from the security patrols, receiving citation appeals from the campus population and preparing them for further action by the Director of Public Safety. Issues decals or parking permits as defined in established college policy, assist the Director of Public Safety or his designee with conducting background check request from various local, state and federal agencies in accordance with established regulations regarding privacy rights. This position requires excellent multi-tasking ability.

Must have dispatcher related experience in a security, police or other closely related enforcement field.

Valid driver’s license
Must share a fair and equal portion of dispatcher overtime.
Must have good reading, writing, communication skills and sound computer literacy.
Must be willing and able to respond, (when off duty) to a telephone call to duty for any unanticipated emergency or interruptions to the normal security function.

This position is assigned to the 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm shift, Monday through Friday.
